Purchasing a Keen-Eye Pup

* All Keen-Eye pups are carefully bred for a quality temperament, strong desire to please, good confirmation and superior working instinct.

Pups are temperament tested at 49 days old (see below), given up-to-date shots and come with a written guarantee against health defects.

* All Keen-Eye pups come with a 20% discount for training done at the Keen-Eye Training Centre for the life of the dog and a 10% discount on kennel stays.

* Pups are tested at 49 days old for character traits, and I choose the pup to match the person. The 49 day mark in a pups development is like a window into seeing what they will be like as an adult. Their brains (not to be confused with the mind) is finished developing by this time and they haven't yet entered into what is known as the fear stage, where things upset them that hadn't earlier. (sound sensitivity etc.) I will need to have summery of how you (and others!) see yourself, e.g..- soft spoken, gentle , aggressive, firm etc. so that the personality of the pup matches. It is not good that a soft person receive a real head strong dog or that a real soft dog has an abrasive loud type owner, see what I mean? I always take into account what the owner is looking for, male/female, tri or bl&wh. etc. Matching the pup to the owner has made very happy owners and happy dogs.

I find it very fascinating to be able to see how accurate these tests are. Often times I get back the grown pups for training at a year or two old. I do an assessment on what they are like then for personality (independent/ dependent, soft/ hard etc. etc, and then I pull up their puppy tests and see how they scored. That little window of time at 49 days is very accurate. It is a wonderful tool to make great match ups.
I like to have an idea of perspective owner's personality type, as well as their preference for dog personality type then I have a much better idea of matching just the right dog for the right person. The owner is happy and the dog is happy too.
